The London Metal Exchange worked closely with various entities that compose the weaving factory of steel to prepare a contract topology that meets their different needs and that bestow to this important market transparency, well defined referential prices and the possibility to control the risk connected to the volatility of the prices.
The Futures contract for Steel arranged from LME are similar to those adopted for non ferrous Metals that foresee the possibility of the delivery deadline or the physical removal of the merchandise from the warehouse authorized by LME.
This possibility assures that the prices of LME and the physical market remains constantly aligned.
